At the beginning of June 2015 Green Teen Team Foundation members visited the town of Armeniș in Caraș-Severin County, western Romania. The visit was to see a presentation of student’s conservation projects. The trip was awesome! The student’s projects were amazing and it was decided that not only would they all win prizes but they would all be implemented over the coming year!

Project Title Recycle and stop polluting

The problem identified:

Irresponsible garbage disposal and a polluted environment

Vision:

Our project will improve awareness at community level in regard to maintaining a clean environment and contribute to increasing volunteer activities in this sense.

Main goal:

Reduce environmental pollution caused by irresponsible garbage disposal in our community and increase volunteering activities amongst students in Teregova

Objective:

Increased involvement from the local community in activities which promote a clean environment and improving the state of our environment through volunteer activities surrounding recycling garbage

Direct: 10 students and teachers that form the project team

Indirect: 1000 locals from Teregova

Project title:

Nature is our school!

The problem identified:

Our natural surroundings are polluted

Our vision:

Young people and locals in Teregova are interested in protecting nature and involved in volunteering activities in this sense.

Goal:

Improving the health of our natural environment

Objectives:

Locals in Teregova are aware of the importance of our natural environment and become more involved in activities to protect nature.

“Eco-School” club is established and runs activities that help protect nature.

Project title Stop deforestation!

The issue:

Deforestation on the southwestern peak of the Semenic mountains

Our mission:

Replanting trees on the southwestern peak of the Semenic Mountains as a step towards the natural regeneration of the forest habitat in the area, which if restored, can have a positive contribution in reducing the effects of climate change, reducing landslides and becoming a prime habitat for wild animals in the areas.
